Educational Objectives:
- Recognize the clinical, behavioral, physiological, and psychiatric
signs and symptoms of individuals suffering from mild, moderate and
severe depression, MDD, and generalized anxiety disorder.
- Recognize and manage the special challenges posed by patients
with mixed neuropsychiatric disorders, including depression, AD, and
GAD.
- Evaluate and compare the efficacy and safety features of pharmacologic
agents used to treat depression, GAD, and mixed neuropsychiatric disorders.
- Implement and participate in multimodal approaches—counseling,
pharmacological, support groups, and other resources—in order
to provide comprehensive management of depression, AD, and generalized
anxiety disorder in a wide range of patient populations, including
women, men, and the elderly.
- Asses triggers for initiation of pharmacologic
agents and stage patients with AD.
- Recognize early stage AD treatment
triggers and use diverse modalities to confirm the diagnosis of AD.
- Categorize
and implement approaches to achieve optimal reduction of adverse drug-related
events in patients with AD, depression, GAD, and related conditions.
