Educational Objectives:

  • As a result of this session, cardiologists will be able to assess and implement optimal antithrombotic strategies for patients with NSTEMI and STEMI.
  • As a result of this session, attendees will understand impact of specific pharmacologic agents on outcomes, including ischemic endpoints, bleeding, and mortality for patients with ACS.
  • As a result of this session, attendees are able to discuss the impact that new trials are likely to have on future management of patients with ACS who require an invasive strategy
  • As a result of this session, physicians will learn to apply AHA/ACC and other national guidelines in order to optimize therapy of patients with ACS
  • Clinicians will learn about the safety and efficacy of various antithrombotic agents and their use across subgroups of patients undergoing PCI
  • Clinicians will learn abut the central role of bleeding minimization and transfusion reduction/avoidance in patients undergoing PCI
  • Clinicians will learn how to apply multiple clinical trials designed to evaluate ischemic risk and hemorrhagic risks in ACS patients undergoing PCI
