Intended Audience:

This HealthWRAP is designed for all physician specialists and primary care providers who manage patients with urinary tract disorders, especially those with overactive bladder and related conditions. These clinical disciplines include, but are not limited to: urological specialists, specialists in urologic gynecology, primary care physicians, geriatricians, long-term care directors, women’s health specialists, nurse practitioners, geriatric nurse practitioners, pharmacists and physician assistants.

After viewing this program, physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers will:

  • Learn to screen patients for urinary tract disorders, including overactive bladder.
  • Learn how to confirm the diagnosis of overactive bladder, and learn the appropriate sequence and use historical of historical features and laboratory modalities used to confirm the diagnosis.
  • Learn how to use pharmacologic agents, with a focus on antimuscarinic agents.
  • Learn evidence-based approaches to managing urinary tract, with a special focus on differentiating safety, efficacy, and pharmacologic properties of available therapeutic agents.
  • Learn how to counsel patients with overactive bladder and guide them in multimodal measures that improve long-term urinary tract health.
  • Learn how to implement a systematic approach to diagnostic assessment of patients with urinary frequency, urgency, and related symptoms.
  • Learn how landmark trials and analyses focusing on overactive bladder should guide pharmacologic therapy.
